Data Sources:  Police Recorded Crime.  Home Office

Notes:  Data in these tables relate to Police Recorded Crime, for the year ending March 2014.

The reason for changes between one year and another may vary.  For example area boundries may have changed, new homes may have been developed that didn't exist in 2012/13, improvements in crime recording may have taken place, or it may be that criminals commited more crimes in the area.

Police recorded crime data are not designated as national statistics.

Caution must be taken when interpreting offences that contain small numbers.

When interpreting data for Kent, users should be aware of recent changes to recording practices in that force. For further information see the section on 'Accuracy of the statistics' in the introduction to the statistical bulletin.
